SPFBO 9 is here! That means more books to add to the TBR. With the primary contest comes the cover contest, where each blog must choose their three favourite covers from their allotment and then bloggers and public vote for one winner. Thanks to this spread compiled by Zack Argyle, you can see all the covers for this year’s contestants.

Covers are the first impression readers get from a book, it communicates the genre and tone of what can be found inside. A cover is the face of a book and can dictate its success as it will catch the eye of potential readers.

With so many beautiful covers entering this year, I tried picking up three from each group that I found interesting and appealing. Here are my would-be finalists no one asked for:
