Summary
Half-orc Darryn is too weird for the orcs and too big and scary for the humans. Never fitting anywhere, Darryn built his house at the top of a hill, where he could watch the rest of the townsfolk. One day, a brave girl visits the fearful orc, suspecting he isn’t as evil and terrifying as other people say.

Title: The Orc Who Saved Christmas

Series: Loveable Monster Holiday #2, standalone
Pages: 40
Publication date: February 3, 2023
He had no human or Orc friends, but he knew the crows in the birch and the robin that came to his windowsill every morning. They didn’t offer much in the way of conversation, but they were company, and that was a something like friendship.
Review
There is no doubt Michelle Franklin likes her monsters huggable.
Another standalone in the series. This is longer than Werewolves don’t celebrate Hanukkah, and the language feels a little more complex for a children’s story. It’s still equally as wholesome and has a lovely message of friendship and acceptance.
Meet Karla, the girl who listened to her heart instead of the crowd’s loud voices, and Darryl, the (half-)orc who saved Christmas, and get to see the best orc-decorated Christmas tree. You might also learn (and fail to articulate) the correct pronunciation for Orcmas.
